“I’m lucky to play Beausoleil Broussard, a real man who played a pivotal role during the Deportation of the Acadians in 1755,” Raphaël shares enthusiastically. “He represents the spirit of resistance and revolt of the Acadian people during that tragic time.”

Being part of such a project and having the opportunity to bring this iconic figure to life is a tremendous source of joy for the actor. “Playing a character that embodies the soul of the Acadian people — it seriously thrills me!” he exclaims with contagious energy.

It’s funny, because for the past ten years, I’ve been telling my friends that if ever a film or TV series about Beausoleil Broussard were made, I absolutely wanted to be part of it — even if it was just as one of his crew.
